Sentinus, the Northern Ireland STEM education charity, runs the Young Innovators competitions each autumn: Young Scientist, Young Engineer, Young Mathematician and Young Coder of the Year, with a live finals day in Belfast.
Four categories: Young Scientist, Young Engineer, Young Mathematician and Young Coder of the Year. In 2026 the overall Young Innovator of the Year winner or team received a funded trip to the International Science and Engineering Fair in the USA, other category winners received £1,000 each, and there was an accelerator programme with SIB and Invest Northern Ireland plus industry links for apprenticeships, scholarships and work experience.
