An Odisha government scholarship of Rs 5,000 a year for 1,000 Class 11-12 students talented in mathematics, offered by the School and Mass Education Department through the State Scholarship Portal.
The scholarship is named after the Odisha astronomer Pathani Samanta and is paid at Rs 5,000 per year, with 1,000 scholarships targeted. It can be availed once a year and the applicant may also hold other department scholarships. The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha also lists a Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship Test (PMST); in the 2025 round applications were announced on 14 December 2025 and results on 25 February 2026.
