Kagoshima City "Wings of Youth" (Seishonen no Tsubasa) Sister-City Youth Exchange 2027

Kagoshima City's long-running youth exchange sends selected local junior high and high school students to sister cities such as Perth, Miami, Strasbourg and Changsha, with the city covering up to 80% of travel costs.

Run by Kagoshima City since 1990 to deepen friendship with sister cities, let young people experience foreign history, culture and daily life (including homestays) and develop people who contribute to the city's internationalisation. After returning, participants write a report, give presentations at school and in the community and help with international exchange events. In FY2026 the Perth delegation took 8 high school students.
