AFS Japan's one-school-year high school exchange with a host family abroad; the additional selection round for 2027 departures is now accepting applications on a first-come basis.
AFS Japan has run high school exchanges for over 70 years. Students spend one school year (some countries offer a 5-month semester option) living with a host family and attending a local school in one of about 30 countries in Asia, the Americas and Europe. Placement (region, school, family) is decided by AFS. The program includes pre-departure, in-program and return orientations.
