Selection for the prestigious international olympiads is run in group-1 subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics and IT). At every stage all candidates get the same tasks regardless of grade, and results are not split by grade. Pupils selected after the second stage attend master classes and intensive training with experienced teachers, university staff, foreign specialists and medal-winning coaches. The national team is then formed from the highest scorers of the third stage according to each olympiad's quota.
