A courtroom-style mock trial competition in which high school teams act as prosecutors and defence counsel in a criminal case, judged by sitting judges, prosecutors and lawyers. The 2027 (20th) edition has not been announced yet.
Teams receive a fictional criminal case, identify the issues, prepare witness examinations and closing arguments, and argue them in real courtrooms (lawyers play judge, defendant and witnesses). Each school gets support from volunteer lawyers and prosecutors (about 5 two-hour sessions). Co-hosted with the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Justice.
