Summer school · In person
A campus program at Michigan State University where high-school students explore nuclear physics through experiments and activities led by FRIB faculty, staff and students. The July 2027 dates are provisional.
Physics of Atomic Nuclei is a week-long educational program sponsored by the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University. Participants conduct nuclear physics experiments and explore atomic nuclei, astrophysics, cosmology and precision measurement with FRIB faculty, staff and students. The program introduces research at a rare-isotope laboratory, scientific careers and college life. These are taught, hands-on educational activities, so this offering is a summer school rather than an employment placement or an independent research appointment. PAN 2027 is currently planned for July 18–23; the organizer has not confirmed these dates as final.
