Six weeks of paid biomedical research with Broad Institute mentors, a final poster and college-readiness support for Massachusetts high-school juniors. No prior research experience is required.
Students join a laboratory or research team working on subjects such as cancer, cell and molecular biology or epigenetics. Mentors design substantive projects and match students using their skills and interests; a preferred topic is not guaranteed. Weekly individual instruction, initial wet-lab training, scientific talks and presentation support accompany the project. Selection considers coursework, scientific curiosity, activities and teacher recommendations. No acceptance rate is established.
