KKP's boarding vocational schools (SUPM, equivalent to SMA/SMK) admit SMP/MTs graduates from low-income fisheries families through a free national selection. The 2027/28 call has not been announced.
Seven SUPM (Ladong, Pariaman, Kota Agung, Tegal, Waiheru, Sorong and Pontianak) teach fisheries skills such as capture-fishing nautics and engineering. In 2026 admission was 100% through the special route for children of poor marine and fisheries actors. Graduates may be asked to work in KKP priority programme locations.
