First offered in spring 2015, Stanford e-Japan enrols exceptional high school students from Japan for about 10–12 live virtual classes on Saturday afternoons (1 pm JST), with lectures on topics such as the U.S.–Japan relationship, Silicon Valley and entrepreneurship and U.S. high schools. Students spend 3–4 hours a week on lectures, discussions, readings and assignments, write an independent research project published in journal format, and give a presentation on U.S. society at their school or in their community. Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion from SPICE, Stanford University.
