Mother Tongue Other Tongue Poetry Competition 2027 (Leeds City of Languages)

Mother Tongue invites students to share an existing or original poem, song or lullaby in their first language with an English commentary of no more than 500 words. Other Tongue invites an original poem in a language the student is learning; Spanish, French, German, Italian, Arabic and Portuguese were accepted in 2026. Selected work features in a digital anthology.
