A free provincial mathematics and statistics competition for Ontario Grade 10-12 students held in person at Mohawk College's Fennell Campus in Hamilton.
SIGMA explores practical applications of mathematics and statistics across business, engineering, aviation, health sciences and arts. Part A has teams of two solving long-answer application problems; Part B is individual short-answer questions on a digital platform. Prizes include gift cards of $150, $120 and $100 for the top three teams in each course, a Bluetooth speaker for the best individual score, and a $500 Mohawk College entrance award for each of the two top-scoring individual Grade 12 students.
