Korea Polar Research Institute selects four high school students each year for a fully funded summer visit to Korea's Arctic Dasan Station in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard (Norway).
Participants visit glacier, geology and ocean research sites around Dasan Station, tour foreign stations and facilities in Ny-Alesund, observe Arctic glaciers and wildlife, learn about polar research, and carry out their own experiments, observations or creative projects, followed by an outreach campaign on the importance of polar research. Since 2005 the programme has sent 112 students.
