If You Were An Engineer, What Would You Do? Leaders Award 2026-27 (Primary Engineer)
A free national STEAM competition in which pupils aged 3 to 19 interview an engineer, identify a problem and submit an annotated drawing of a solution with a letter explaining why it should be built. Every entry receives a graded certificate.

Pupils research the engineer they interview, spot a problem and draw a solution. Every entry is read by an engineering professional and graded Pass, Merit, Distinction or Shortlisted, with a personalised certificate. Each year group has its own category and two winners are chosen from each, with regional shortlists and judging panels.
