FLEX Global Abroad — 2027–28

FLEX Global Abroad is a US Department of State exchange scholarship implemented by American Councils, AFS-USA and Amideast. Students live with a host family, attend a local high school and participate in community and leadership activities for about 10 months. Enrichment focuses on culture, business, entrepreneurship and technology. Current possible host countries are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Thailand; the list may change. Applicants may rank preferences, but staff assign the country, school and family, and students must be open to any placement. There is introductory language support rather than the intensive language curriculum of NSLI-Y. School-credit transfer and graduation are decisions for the home school, not guaranteed by the program.
