New free state engineering schools of the Agency of Specialized Educational Institutions, opening in regional centres from 2026-27, admit pupils by test into grades 7-10.
Under Presidential resolution PQ-278 of 8 September 2025, engineering schools are being set up step by step in all regions from the 2026-27 school year. For 2026-27 the Agency set engineering-class quotas for grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 (48 places per grade in most cities, e.g. Andijan, Fergana, Jizzakh, Nukus, Urgench, Angren). The one-stage test is mathematics (30) and English (15) for grade 7, and algebra (12), geometry (8), physics (10) and English (15) for grades 8-10.
