Duke–Cook Children’s RISE-STAR Affiliate Program 2027

This inaugural Texas cohort of about eight students extends Duke’s Summer Training in Academic Research (STAR) program. Each student is paired with a Cook Children’s mentor on an active pediatric study, takes short courses in research methods, scientific writing and professional development, and finishes with a capstone presentation and/or research poster.
