Government of India merit scholarships through Central Sanskrit University for Class 9-12 students who study Sanskrit, Pali or Prakrit as a main or optional subject. The 2026-27 online window has closed; the next call is expected in 2027.
Merit scholarships are given on an all-India basis to regular students of Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit from Class 9 to Ph.D., in modern schools and in traditional Pathashalas. The number of scholarships depends on funds. The guideline lists Rs 500 per month for 10 months for Class 9, with rates for other classes in the table.
