25th National Middle & High School 'Know Our History' Contest 2027 (NIKH)

An annual national Korean-history contest run since 2003 by the National Institute of Korean History: students submit a research report, field-study report or video, and shortlisted entrants sit an essay exam.

Aimed at strengthening students' understanding of Korean history and historical thinking. Preliminary round: judging of submitted works (literature research report / field survey report, or video). Final round: an essay exam. 33 works are awarded in each of the middle and high school divisions; the grand prize carries the Minister of Education award, and in 2026 the top 10 award-winners were offered an overseas study trip.
