New from the 2027 academic year: students entering one of 30 regional flagship national universities get full tuition through the national scholarship, regardless of income bracket.

A sub-type of the national scholarship to support regional balance and attract local talent. It covers 2027 entrants first and will expand by one year group each year (2028: years 1-2; 2030: all four years). Medicine, dentistry, Korean medicine, pharmacy and veterinary departments are excluded, as are national universities in the capital area, public universities and special-act universities such as UNIST.
