India's national German-language contest for school students learning German, run by the Goethe-Institut with the Indo-German Teachers' Association; the two national winners represent India at the International German Olympiad (IDO).
The IDO is an international celebration of the German language in which about 50 countries send their best young learners of German to a final in Germany. India's selection is the National German Olympiad: Goethe-Institut centres choose candidates across levels A2, B1 and B2, who then compete in an online national round organised with the Indo-German Teachers' Association (InDaF). The 2026 winners from India were two girl students from Delhi Public School Gurgaon and Symbiosis Secondary School Pune.
