Create a short original video connecting population growth to city planning, fresh water use or extreme weather.
Population Connection’s Population Education program invites students to explain one current theme and propose a sustainable solution in a video of no more than 60 seconds. Begin with a five-second title screen listing producers, school/location, title and runtime; this screen and an optional five-second cited-sources ending do not count toward the limit. Videos must be in English or have English subtitles. Enter alone or with any-size student team, with one lead producer; prizes are divided among listed producers. Students must create the concept, script, editing, graphics and content themselves; adults may only act or film, and professional assistance is prohibited. Cite information and obtain rights to third-party material. Entrants retain ownership but grant Population Connection broad unpaid use, reproduction and promotional rights. Multiple videos are allowed, but at most one first prize and two total awards per student/team.
