VIT Vellore's Department of Mathematics holds an annual one-day national mathematics contest for school students, with a talent examination, quiz, model exhibition and poster presentation at three class levels. The 2027 edition has not been announced.

Held every year by the Department of Mathematics, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT, to encourage mathematical talent among schoolchildren. Events at each level: Mathematical Talent Examination (individual, with separate Tamil and English medium prizes), Mathematical Quiz, Mathematical Model Exhibition and Mathematical Poster Presentation (teams of exactly 3). Level I is Std VI-VIII, Level II Std IX-X and Level III Std XI-XII. The 2026 prizes were worth Rs 1,00,000 and more, with cash awards and merit certificates for winners, consolation prizes for competent participants and an overall trophy for the best performing school.
