A Department of Science & Technology programme to encourage meritorious girls in Classes 9-12 to take up STEM through science camps, special lectures, role-model interactions, tinkering and visits to IITs, IISERs, NITs and CSIR/DST labs. Phase VII student registration opened on 28 July 2026.
Vigyan Jyoti is a DST flagship initiative begun in December 2019 to bring gender parity in STEM. Activities include science camps, special lectures, role-model interactions, tinkering activities, career counselling, lab visits and visits to Knowledge Partner institutes such as IITs, IISERs and NITs, and labs of CSIR, DST, DBT, ICMR and ICAR. NVS and KVS are implementing partners.
