First-year examples from the current rules: Digital TestAS 190–200 → 100%, 175–189 → 50%, 150–174 → 25%. Direct admission: First prize at the national science & engineering fair or a provincial excellent-students exam → 100% (Second prize → 50%, Third/Consolation → 25%); national excellent-students exam prizes in eligible subjects, APMO/APhO/APIO prizes and international olympiad or ISEF team members → 100%. SAT 1451–1600 → 100%. The fund totals up to 21 billion VND a year. Awards are given as tuition waivers; students pay tuition first and receive the award by the end of the semester.
