A free University of Tokyo STEAM research program in which about 70 high school students develop research plans through workshops at the Institute of Industrial Science, then carry out their own research in UTokyo labs the following year.
UTokyoGSC-Next (未来を切り拓くグローバル科学技術人材の育成プログラム) is a JST STELLA program run by the University of Tokyo's Institute of Industrial Science. Stage 2 uses STEAM-style workshops to refine research plans, working across fields and with companies; selected students go on to stage 3, conducting their own research in University of Tokyo laboratories. A stage 1 course exists for upper elementary and junior high students.
