A free, year-long Tohoku University program in which about 100 high school students attend university-level science lectures, labs and English salons, with selected students moving on to lab research.
Run by all science faculties of Tohoku University with Miyagi University of Education and Iwate University as a JST STELLA (小中高型) program, the course offers cutting-edge lectures, experiments, an English exchange salon and global-perspective sessions. Selected students advance to intensive research in university labs. Students living far away can take part fully online.
