Summer school · In person
Write, direct and edit short films while rotating through classmates’ crews in a two- or three-week intensive.
This college-level introductory course teaches screenwriting, directing, cinematography, sound and editing. Small crews make a Lumière single-shot film in week one and a Porter continuity film in week two; three-week students also make a Kubrick project. Instructors guide shoots, class critiques and weekly showcases. The entry covers the residential Manhattan route at SOCAPA’s NYU/New School campus arrangements, not the separately priced day or other-city courses.
