Each year the Russian government quota funds study in Russia for 15,000 foreign candidates. Applicants from Uzbekistan take part in Rossotrudnichestvo's selection for bachelor's and specialist programmes.
The quota of the Government of the Russian Federation pays for study at Russian universities for selected foreign citizens. In 2026, Rossotrudnichestvo's first-round selection for bachelor's and specialist applicants from CIS countries, including Uzbekistan, was held remotely with proctored subject tests. Test scores rank candidates within their country. In the second stage, universities assign places and may set extra tests. Successful candidates then get a study visa (if needed) and travel to Russia.
