America's premier Japanese-language competition for high school students: teams of two or three compete at Level II, III or IV in Washington, DC on April 23–24, 2027.
Now in its 35th year, the National Japan Bowl tests Japanese language and knowledge of Japanese culture and society, with individual and team rounds and a championship round. Levels follow the student's course level: Level II (second-year), Level III (third-year) and Level IV (fourth/fifth-year or AP Japanese). Regional Japan Bowl participation is not required. Championship winners from U.S. teams receive a winners' trip.
