Bosscha Observatory (ITB) hosts school groups of up to 80 students for a 2-hour educational tour: hands-on activity, dome visit, astrophotography exhibition and solar observation when the sky is clear. A group booking by the school, not an individual place.
The programme is meant for student groups from early childhood to university and communities. The visit includes a hands-on activity (materials provided), the dome building, the astrophotography exhibition and solar observation (weather permitting); for university or community groups the craft can be replaced by a popular astronomy lecture. Bosscha also offers online astronomy classes and school-based visits on request. A separate free hands-on workshop for Bandung-area SMA/SMK/MA students ('Eksplorasi Optik dan Gelombang') was held on 10 October 2026 (registration closed 1 October 2026).
