Youth Science Club (YSC) Research Program 2027

Government-funded program that selects about 60 middle and high school science clubs, gives each KRW 2 million for a research project with expert mentoring, and invites them to present at the national youth science inquiry contest.

Clubs choose one of eight fields (physics, chemistry, life science/biology, earth/space, environment, engineering/invention, mathematics, SW/AI) and carry out surveys, experiments and observations over about four months, then write a final report and present results. Selection is by regional review panels on suitability, creativity, purpose, benefit and budget, with about 8 teams per region. Award-winning teams at the presentation contest can receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award.
