A week-long residential liberal-arts summer school where high school students live and learn with university-student mentors from Japan and abroad; the 2027 edition has not been announced yet.
Running since 2011, HLAB holds bilingual summer schools built on peer mentorship: seminars led by university students, talks with guests, workshops and a 'house system' of small groups of high school students and mentors. Selection values willingness to communicate rather than current English level; bilingual mentors provide support.
