Gubkin Subject Olympiad in Mathematics and Russian (Gubkin University Tashkent Branch) 2027

The Tashkent branch of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) has held the Gubkin Subject Olympiad in mathematics and Russian since 2025 to find motivated school leavers. The 2026 edition drew more than 1,300 registered pupils from 200 schools, 19 lyceums and 17 colleges. Under the 2026 admission rules, winners and prize-winners of the 2025 and 2026 olympiads were admitted without entrance exams to Geological Exploration Technology, Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology, and Petroleum Engineering. Winners were also admitted without exams to Economics and Management, and prize-winners there got their olympiad result counted as 100 points. Other participants with at least 40 points could have these scores counted as entrance exam results. The branch's 2025 news says winners and prize-winners enter year 1 on a state-grant basis.
