Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı provides monthly scholarships (non-repayable) and student loans (repayable) to university students. Students who have just won a place in a higher-education programme through YKS apply in the first weeks of the academic year, together with continuing students and Turkish citizens studying abroad. In January 2026 the monthly amount for lisans students was raised to 4,000 TL.
