A school-hosted mathematical teamwork contest with individual, collaborative and relay problem solving.
Teams of six secondary-school students in grades 9–12 tackle individual, team and relay events. Each event lasts 45 minutes; the full contest takes about three hours but the school can spread events across days. Individual: ten problems each; team: 25 collaborative problems; relay: two groups of three pass answers along. This is the in-school route, not the Canadian-school lottery for the Waterloo-hosted event. Supervisors may invite other schools, mark final answers locally and print certificates; CEMC does not collect in-school results. No calculators in the team event; only permitted calculators in individual/relay events.
