The APMO, started in 1989, is a mathematics competition for countries of the Pacific Rim. A central committee picks one paper of five problems (7 points each) to be solved in four hours. Any number of students may sit the paper in each country, but at most 10 results per country count officially. Awards depend on score and rank within the country: gold for the top student, silver for ranks up to 3 and bronze up to 7, if score cut-offs are met. The APMO country list shows Uzbekistan as active.
