A Tamil Nadu government examination on Tamil language and literature for Class 11 (Higher Secondary first year) students; 1,500 students are selected for a monthly scholarship for two years.
The test checks aptitude in Tamil language and literature to encourage students to study Tamil literature. According to the DGE press release of 3 September 2024 (Tamil), 1,500 students are selected and receive ₹1,500 a month for two years, and the test is based on the Class 10 Tamil Nadu State Board syllabus and held at district headquarters. Students of all boards in Class 11 in Tamil Nadu (State Board, Matriculation, CBSE, ICSE) were eligible in 2024.
