Tanlov · Yuzma-yuz
A national poetry-speaking competition for pupils aged 7-18, with a Grand Finale planned at Shakespeare's Globe. Pupils enter through a registered school or college.
Pupils choose poems from the Poetry By Heart collections, learn them by heart and perform them aloud. Classic is a two-poem solo category (one poem from before 1914 and one from 1914 onwards) and Freestyle is a one-poem celebration that may be performed solo or in groups of up to 15. Finalists are invited to the Grand Finale at Shakespeare's Globe.
