Olimpiada · Gibrid
Japan's national competitive programming olympiad for students up to high school grade 3, which selects the teams for IOI, APIO and (through the women's division JOIG) EGOI. Entry for JOI 2026/2027 has closed; the next cycle has not been announced yet.
JOI decides Japan's top competitive programmer up to high school level. Contestants design efficient algorithms and implement them as programs. The online preliminaries lead to the semifinal and final stages, and the strongest finalists represent Japan at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2027: Germany) and the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad. The JOI Women's Division (JOIG) uses the JOI preliminaries and semifinal plus its own final to select the team for the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2027: Poland).
