The Grade 9/10 Beaver Computing Challenge introduces computational and logical thinking without requiring programming experience. Students answer 15 multiple-choice problems individually online in 45 minutes, for 90 points. Grade 10 or below can choose this level; this listing covers grades 9–10. Only one BCC level per school year. Despite electronic answers, supervised attendance at the ordering school is mandatory. Every student needs a browser and school-issued credentials; supervisors must prevent communication between students and minimize sharing between different test days. Schools with at least four participants can issue Certificates of Distinction for their own top quarter; participation certificates are available.
