A Tamil Nadu government talent-search examination and scholarship for Class 9 students of rural schools who scored at least 50% in Class 8; the top 50 boys and 50 girls in each revenue district are placed on the merit list for the state scholarship.
TRuST aims to identify students of high scholastic achievement in middle school and give them a scholarship for higher studies. The examination is objective type. Results are computerised and a merit list of 50 boys and 50 girls from each revenue district is sent to the Director of School Education, who implements the scholarship. Selected students who discontinue their studies lose the scholarship.
