A nationwide inquiry-learning contest in which teams of high school students propose SDGs action ideas for local issues, judged in 24 regional tournaments across all 47 prefectures.
SDGs QUEST Mirai Koshien gives every high school student a place to present inquiry-learning results as an action-idea contest - ideas alone, without track record, may be entered. Plans cover the inquiry theme and reason, the action idea and goal, how to implement it, its wider impact, and personal change through inquiry. Regional tournaments are run with local media, governments, companies and financial institutions, with awards such as the Action Idea Grand Prize and sponsor awards; top teams are invited to national exchange events. From 2026, finalists receive a digital badge.
