Through NIIED, Korean students can apply for the Hungarian government's Stipendium Hungaricum to study a full degree (including a bachelor's) in Hungary with free tuition, a monthly stipend, accommodation and insurance. The 2027-2028 call has not been posted yet.
Korea joined Stipendium Hungaricum under a 2023 MOU between Korea's education ministry and Hungary's foreign ministry, with up to 100 Korean places per year. Any field is possible at participating Hungarian universities, taught in English or Hungarian (a one-year Hungarian preparatory year applies for Hungarian-taught degrees when needed). NIIED gives extra points for TOEFL/IELTS scores and the Korean History Proficiency Test level 3+.
