A fully funded one-week science exchange visit to Japan run by JST for Indian students in Classes X-XII, selected by DST from the national winners of the INSPIRE-MANAK awards. The next batch has not been announced.
Under the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Science Plan), JST invites Asian high school students for about a week to visit top Japanese universities and research institutes, attend lectures by Nobel laureates and distinguished professors, and experience Japanese culture. India has participated since 2015 through DST. To reach it, a student in Class 6-10 first wins an INSPIRE-MANAK award (INR 10,000 for a science project) and then performs at district, state and national level.
