Students can take a one-year membership of the Innovation Hub at the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium in Kozhikode, use its tool-equipped laboratory and develop their own science and technology project ideas under expert approval.
The Hub is a platform for young people to take part in innovative activities and build scientific thinking and problem-solving skills through product development. It has a laboratory with a moderate set of tools and scientific instruments, available to registered members, and aims to incubate the best ideas and to recognise local innovations. Members document their daily work at each session; good projects are posted on the Centre's website and may get a chance to be shown at science or innovation fairs organised by the National Council of Science Museums or similar bodies.
