A Ministry of Home Affairs scholarship for the wards and widows of serving, retired and deceased personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles who enter a first professional degree after Class 12: Rs 3,000 a month for girls and Rs 2,500 a month for boys.
Funded from the National Defence Fund and run by the Ministry of Home Affairs. 2,000 fresh scholarships are available each year for CAPF and Assam Rifles wards (half for girls) for first professional degrees such as engineering, medicine, dental, veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.Sc Nursing, MBA and MCA. Applications are ranked by an order of preference starting with wards of personnel killed in action, and then by marks in the entry qualification.
