A University Grants Commission scholarship of Rs 8,000 a month for students from the North Eastern Region who have passed Class 12 and entered the first year of an undergraduate degree.
Ten thousand scholarships a year are available for economically weaker students of the North Eastern Region (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura), 50% for arts, humanities, social sciences, law and management and 50% for science, engineering, medical, technical and agriculture programmes. The scholarship runs for the duration of the first UG degree.
