HEC Need Based Scholarship pays the tuition fee and a Rs.6000 monthly stipend to financially needy students admitted to undergraduate programmes at participating public sector universities.
HEC announced these scholarships for financially disadvantaged students at participating public sector universities and institutions that receive an annual recurring grant from HEC. The scheme covers undergraduate (4-5 year) programmes in all disciplines, although each university decides which disciplines and how many slots to offer. Students must first win admission under the university's own admission policy. Eligibility is linked to the financial need of the applicant's family as assessed by the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee.
