India Post's scholarship for school students in Classes 6-9 who keep stamp collecting as a hobby: a written philately quiz followed by a philately project, with Rs 6,000 a year for ten students per class.
Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana ('Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude and Research in Stamps as a Hobby') is run by the Department of Posts at circle level. Level 1 is a one-hour written quiz (50 MCQs: current affairs, history, geography, science, sports/culture/personalities, local and national philately). Level 2 is a philately project (max. 500 words, 4-5 pages, up to 16 stamps). Ten students from each class (6, 7, 8 and 9) receive the scholarship, Rs 6,000 per year.
